Your privacy matters

Beengo (“we”, “us”) is a camera-first language-learning app. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to make Beengo work well — and to never sell your personal data. By using Beengo, you agree to this policy.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — your email, display name, and learning preferences (native and target languages).
• Learning data — words you save, progress, streaks, quiz results, and review history.
• Camera images — photos you capture to identify objects, sent securely to our recognition service and not stored unless you save the word.
• Voice recordings — audio for pronunciation practice, processed to score your speech and then discarded.
• Usage & device data — app interactions, device model, OS, and diagnostic logs.

• Provide core features — scanning, translations, pronunciation, the AI tutor, and review.
• Personalize your learning and sync progress across devices.
• Maintain, secure, and improve the app and our models.
• Manage subscriptions and respond to support requests.
• Send essential service messages (no marketing without your consent).

• Camera and microphone are used only while you are actively scanning or practicing.
• Images are processed to detect objects and returned as labels — not kept unless you save the word.
• Voice recordings are used to assess pronunciation and are not retained afterward.
• You can revoke camera or microphone access anytime in your device settings.

To power scanning, translations, the AI tutor, and speech, we use trusted third-party processors (AI, speech, and cloud-hosting providers). They process data only on our instructions to deliver these features — not for their own purposes.

• Image recognition & translation to identify objects and translate words.
• AI language models to generate explanations, quizzes, and conversations.
• Text-to-speech and speech analysis for pronunciation.
• Cloud infrastructure and analytics to host and stabilize the app.

Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store (and Google Play when available). Payments are handled entirely by the app store — we never receive or store your full card details. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status to unlock Pro features.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:

• With the service providers above, to operate Beengo.
• When required by law, or to protect our rights, users, and safety.
• As part of a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), with notice to you.

We keep your account and learning data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal, security, or fraud-prevention obligations.

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data.

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you can:

• Access a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

Beengo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as Beengo evolves. We'll post the new version here and update the date above; significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
